New Eltham – Royal Borough of Greenwich
Eltham is located in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, London, which is situated on the banks of the River Thames.
Greenwich is a world heritage site and is known for its maritime history. It is home to the restored 19th-century ship the Cutty Sark, the huge National Maritime Museum, and the classical buildings of the Old Royal Naval College. The modern O2 arena sits on a peninsula to the north with Greenwich Park and the Royal Observatory also in close proximity. Greenwich has excellent connections to London’s travel network such as the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) which goes to Bank station via Canary Wharf which is also on the Jubilee line, river boat or train. The Jubilee line also runs to North Greenwich for the O2, and is a short bus ride from Greenwich town centre, Charlton, Eltham and Woolwich.
The site is in close proximity to the A20 main road, an easy and direct route into the heart of London. In addition to excellent transport accessibility, the development is within a 20-minute drive to the renowned Bluewater Shopping Centre, offering locals and tourists luxury shopping accessibility.
The proposal involves the construction of a residential development scheme, and seeks to accommodate a total of 194 high quality apartments of varying sizes and 37 4-bedroom houses. The apartment scheme will incorporate a market mix of residential units, which includes studio apartments and 1 and 2-bedroom flats.
This proposed scheme aims to create a modern residential facility at a site which benefits from excellent rail connections to London and Kent. Residents will have exclusive use of landscaped communal garden areas in addition to individual private balconies.
Two levels of private parking will sit below the landscaped podium, providing in excess of 200 car parking spaces, which will be accessed via a ramped entrance. From this location, New Eltham Station is approximately 2-minutes’ walk offering the highly sustainable transport connections to commuters, existing residents and visitors alike.
