Ian Mattison is a recently retired army officer, after over 20 years’ service in the UK and overseas. Major Ian Mattison formed his own small Limited Company, MajicM Ltd in 2011 in order to undertake projects on behalf of clients in diverse areas of business. Disciplined in a diverse range of business and personal activities and with a wealth of transferable skills, his experience has been gained in:
• Reconstruction and renovation, most especially in the challenging environment of Iraq.
• Contract writing, implementation and management
• Operations Management & Project Management
• Sales Management & Sales Training
• Event Management & Fundraising
• Information Technology Management
• Public speaking including lecturing in military history
Ian was inducted into the Honourable Artillery Company Light Cavalry and is security vetted by the Defence Vetting agency at SC until May 2020.
Combining Event Management with Charitable Fundraising, in 2010 Ian was a Founder Trustee, Secretary and then CEO of a Charitable Trust which held events in the Savoy (2011) and the Waldorf-Astoria (2012) where over £40,000 was raised at each event.
Other Event Management experiences included writing, organising and running a major NATO Civil Military Co-operation (CIMIC) course in Ankara, Turkey 2002/3. He also ran a similar course for the Royal Nepalese Army in Kathmandu in 2003 and assisting in another senior NATO course in Oberammergau, Germany in 2004.
In 2013 Ian became a Member of the Institute of Royal Engineers, and is The Honorary Secretary of The British Plaque Society. Ian also has Sales Training & Management qualifications, a Diploma from L.I.M.R.A and several IT Data Security and Database Management qualifications. He also has a very comprehensive network of contacts not only in commerce but in the entertainment industry and has appeared in publications such as Hello! Magazine and on BFBS television.
